How to add a job

You can add a job to your pipeline in several ways.

From the app:
1. Click the + button in the top navigation and select Add Job
2. Enter the company, role, and other details
3. Click Save

Other ways to add a job:
- Jobs page — Click Add Job at the top of the Jobs page
- Paste a URL — Paste a job posting URL when adding a job, and Orbit fills in the details automatically using AI
- Keyboard shortcut — Press N from anywhere to open Quick Add
- Command P

Use your Dashboard

Your Dashboard gives you a complete picture of your job search at a glance.

What you will find on your Dashboard:
- Morning Brief — A full-screen greeting that adapts to your mood (shows once per session)
- Weekly Digest — A performance summary and recommendations for the week ahead
- Summary cards — Key metrics like total applications, interviews, and offers
- Today Focus — The most important actions you should take right now
- Goals — Activity rings showing your daily

Use the Command Palette

The Command Palette lets you search, navigate, and take action from anywhere in Orbit.

Open the Command Palette:
Press Cmd/Ctrl + K from any page.

What you can do:
- Type a company or role name to jump to a job
- Type a contact name to open their details
- Type a page name like Dashboard, Jobs, or Calendar to navigate there
- Type "add job", "add contact", or "add event" to create something new
- Type "help" to open the Help Center
- Your recently accessed items appear

Shortcuts:
- Cmd/Ctrl + K — Open the Command Palette
- N — Quick Add (create a job, contact, or event)

- Left/Right arrows — Move between tabs
- Up/Down arrows — Switch between navigation layers
- Escape — Close any modal or popover

Tip: Press Cmd/Ctrl + K to search your jobs, contacts, and pages all from one search box. It is the fastest way to get anywhere in Orbit.

Use Orbit offline

Orbit works without an internet connection so you can keep working anywhere.

What happens when you are offline:
- The app loads from your browser's cache, so it opens instantly
- Your data is stored on your device for fast access
- Any changes you make are saved locally and sync automatically when you reconnect
- If you make several changes to the same item, only the latest version is sent

You can install Orbit as an app on your phone, tablet, or computer

Set up the browser extension

Set up the extension:
1. Install the Orbit extension from the Chrome Web Store or Safari Extensions
2. Sign in to Orbit in your browser
3. Go to Settings > Account > Extension Tokens and click Generate Token
4. Paste the token into the extension popup

Reorder widgets:
1. Hover over any widget card until you see the grab cursor
2. Click and hold, then drag the card to a new position

4. Your layout saves automatically and syncs across devices

Sync your data across devices

How it works:
- Every change you make saves instantly on your device and pushes to the cloud in the background
- Your other devices receive updates within seconds

- Green means you are connected and syncing

Quiet Mode automatically softens your Dashboard when you have been having a tough stretch.

When does it activate?
