48 hours before your interview: a checklist

Your interview is in 2 days. Here's everything to do in Orbit to prepare.

48 hours before

  1. Check your Interview Prep card on the dashboard. Review:

- Company insights (recent news, culture, strategic direction)

- Likely questions (practice answering 3-4 of them out loud)

- Your talking points (aligned to the job description)

  1. Review linked contacts. Open the job and check who you know at the company. If you have a referral, reach out to ask about the interview format.
  1. Re-read the job description. Open the job detail and read the full description. Highlight 3 requirements you'll emphasize.

24 hours before

  1. Prepare STAR stories. The prep card suggests 4-5 stories. Write bullet points for each: Situation, Task, Action, Result.
  1. Prepare questions to ask. The prep card suggests 4-5. Pick 3 that show genuine interest.
  1. Ask Scout Chat. Try: "What should I know about interviewing at [company]?" or "Give me 3 behavioral questions for a [role] position."

Day of

  1. Check your calendar. Confirm the time and format (video/phone/in-person).
  1. Complete the prep checklist. The Interview Prep card has 8 procedural items. Check them off.
  1. Do a mood check-in. Acknowledge how you're feeling. If anxious, try the breathing exercise in Tools > Wellness > Exercises.

After the interview

  1. Log notes immediately. Open the job and add notes about what was discussed, who you met, and how it went.
  1. Send a thank-you. Use Compose > select the job > choose the "Thank You" template or use AI Draft.
  1. Set next action. "Wait for feedback" with a date 3-5 days out.
