Active sessions and devices

Orbit shows you exactly which devices and browser tabs are using your account right now.

Where to find it

Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner of the nav bar. Below your name you'll see the Active Sessions section listing every device and tab that's currently connected.

What each session shows

  • Device info — Browser name and operating system (e.g., "Chrome on macOS", "Safari on iOS")
  • Current view — Which page they're on (e.g., "Dashboard", "Jobs", "Settings")
  • Editing indicator — If someone is actively editing a job or contact, it shows what they're working on

Your current tab is labeled so you can distinguish it from other sessions.

How it works

Orbit uses Supabase Presence (WebSocket heartbeats) to track active sessions. When you open Orbit in a new tab or device, it registers automatically. When you close the tab, it disappears within a few seconds.

The green sync dot

The small dot on your profile avatar shows your real-time sync status:

  • Green — Connected. Changes sync instantly across all your sessions.
  • Orange (pulsing) — Connecting. Usually resolves in 1-2 seconds.
  • Red — Disconnected. Check your internet connection.
  • No dot — Sync not active (Free tier users, or page still loading).

Edit conflicts

If two sessions edit the same job or contact at the same time, you'll see a warning message. Orbit uses a "last write wins" approach — the most recent save takes precedence. The warning gives you a chance to review before overwriting.

Tip: Check Active Sessions before editing something important. If you see another session viewing the same page, coordinate to avoid conflicts.

Signing out other devices

Changing your password in Settings > Account signs you out of all other devices and tabs. This is useful if you left Orbit open on a shared computer.

Requirements

Active Sessions requires Pro or Ultra tier (uses the same Realtime connection as cross-device sync). Free tier users won't see other sessions.
