Job match score

ToolsUpdated Mar 20, 2026~1 min read

Orbit automatically scores how well a job description matches your candidate profile, showing the result as a percentage badge on job cards.

How it works:

  1. Set up your candidate profile in the Resume section (skills, experience, preferences)
  2. Save a job with a description
  3. Orbit compares the job requirements against your profile
  4. A match percentage appears as a badge on the job card

What gets compared:

  • Your skills vs. required and preferred skills in the job description
  • Your experience level vs. the role requirements
  • Your preferences (location, remote, salary range) vs. what the job offers

Score ranges:

  • 80%+ — Strong match. Your profile aligns well with this role.
  • 60-79% — Good match. You meet most requirements.
  • Below 60% — Partial match. Consider whether to invest time applying.

No AI needed:

Job match scoring works entirely offline using your local data. No API key required.

Requirements:

  • Candidate profile with skills filled in (Resume section)
  • Job must have a saved description

Tip: Keep your candidate profile up to date. The more skills and experience details you add, the more accurate the match scores become.
